Hi! Kristen Atkins here, Amherst County, VA. I taught high school English for 20 years, am now an Instructional Specialist (teacher coach Literacy 6-12, all subjects instruction 6-12, and classroom management K-12) for 3 years, have been a district mentor for 18 years, and now am the District Lead Mentor for 3 years (training and supporting our mentors), and I do some of the New Teacher Induction trainings. Saying all that makes me feel kind of old! All that said, I still have a growth mindset and am happy to glean all I can to help new teachers and mentors...this is a profession that can still be loved...I still love my job after 22+ years!
